AARP: A Legacy of Women Who Lead

Posted By Alejandra Owens On February 15, 2008 @ 9:00 am In Your Life | No Comments

We’re an organization that was started by a woman, so we don’t need Susan B. Anthony Day to recognize great female talent. But, why not spotlight women who are doing great things?
Check out these links to AARP’s Board and E-Team [1]and get to know trailblazers like President-Elect Jennie Chin Hansen [2], General Counsel Joan Wise [3]and Nancy Leamond [4]who heads up Divided We Fail and all of AARP’s Social Impact work. (And there are plenty more where that came from… Joanne [5], Shereen [6], Ellie [7], Bonnie [8], Cora [9], Nelda [10], Mara [11], Robin [12], Maeona [13], Mary [14] and Joanne [15]!)
And on our 50th Anniversary [16], get to know Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus [17], the feisty former teacher that started this whole crazy thing. She’d be proud of AARP’s new generation of women leaders and of our nearly 20 million women members.
