Jane Pauley: Making Reinvention Real

Jane Pauley's familiar face and signature snappy wit was on stage yesterday, but the real stars were her subjects. Ret. General Anthony Tata, knitter Betsy McCarthy (who was totally knitting on stage!), and "Prostate Man" Lawrence McRae made up the oddest trio, but the audience lined up to ask them questions that ranged from personal to political.
And, really, that's the appeal of Jane Pauley's Your Life Calling series. We can talk about these abstract details of career change - resumes, job hunting, networking, how to use things like LinkedIn - but in the end, what it comes down to is having the courage to jump. These people did.
After all that, the standing ovation for Jane, for the General, for the Prostate Man and McCarthy seemed just about right.
