Hey everybody – it’s Jenn! What are you doing on Wednesday May 16th?
Answer: Going to the Central Illinois Senior Celebration! The Central Illinois Senior Celebration (say that three times fast) is put on by a coalition of about 14 different organizations throughout the state. AARP is a sponsor, and it looks like there is going to be some great entertainment, goodies, and useful info for just about everyone this year. If you’re like me you probably want to peruse the schedule ahead of time – no problem we’ve got you covered.
It’s a day you can’t miss designed for people fifty years of age and over, caregivers and veterans. Admission is free with a donation of a can of food. With more than one hundred exhibitors … you’ll get useful information, access to important health screenings like blood glucose levels, bone density, balance checks, and more.
We’d love to have you stop at the AARP table and take our latest questionnaire on Social Security and Medicare – after all with Congress making all these decisions ABOUT you they should hear FROM you don’t you agree?
Relax awhile and listen to the live entertainment, or sit yourself down and enjoy a massage! Don’t forget to register for an array of door prizes … and while you’re there head on over to the AAA Chicago Motor Club table and sign up for their CarFit Event – as you drive out make sure you’re safe and comfy in your car, and have the trained technicians adjust your mirrors to help eliminate blind spots!
The celebration takes place from 9:00am – 2:00 pm on Wednesday May 16th in the Orr building at the Fairgrounds in Springfield. Questions? Call 1-800-252-2918
