Wrong Gift Card? You Can Exchange It
Posted By Tara Finnegan Coates On December 20, 2012 @ 12:43 pm In Money Talk | No Comments
A recent survey by the National Retail Federation found that six out of 10 people want to receive gift cards under the tree this Christmas. Count me among those folks who enjoy the flexibility of giving and receiving gift cards.
A gift card allows people to pick out what they like and they can redeem it at their convenience. Who wants to be stuck with something you’re never going to use or something that doesn’t fit?
In the rare case you receive a gift card that you can’t use, you don’t have to be stuck with it. The website Gift Card Granny is to the rescue with Gift Card Exchange Day. Starting Dec. 26, you can trade in your gift card for cash. If you go to this website, you’ll receive an estimate on what someone is willing to pay for your card. If the price is right, just put the card in the mail and wait for the check. There are also several sites that sell, buy or swap gift cards year-round including Plastic Jungle, GiftCardRescue.com, Monster Gift Card, morphCARD and Cardpool.
That sure beats waiting in the returns/exchanges line with everyone else on Dec. 26.
