Trivia Countdown! Three Days to Movies for Grownups on Turner Classic Movies

I’m counting down the days until May 15, the night I get to introduce¬† four great Movies for Grownups with Robert Osborne on TCM [1]. Here’s today’s trivia bit about one of the movies we’re showing:

The iconic spaceship in Forbidden Planet [3] didn’t retire from show biz after the film wrapped. It was re-used several times on the MGM lot; most memorably in several episodes of Rod Serling’s Twilight Zone. And Robby the Robot, built at a cost of $125,000 for the film, later turned up in many TV shows (you’ll also recognize Marvin Miller’s voice as Robbie-he did the same duty for the famous robot on the series Lost in Space).
