ShAARP Session: Observations from AARP

Today, the titans of industry have convened for a daylong meeting in Williamsburg, VA to chat about the issues of the day. The focus of today’s event? Health care. It is definitely a sign of changing times that CEOs are talking about this as an issue. When Starbucks spends more on health care than coffee and GM spends more on health care than steel, you know it’s time for a change.

Nice clip here and here from CNBC talking with WebMd and Aetna on the need for changes to the healthcare system, with lots of interesting ideas from the private sector about how we can make health care work for everyone.

I feel that AARP is not looking out for the seniors regarding the healthcare system- very disappointed and will not renew my AARP membership.

Gerald Frystak says:

Just read an article in the Stevens Point Journal written by D'Anna Bowman, the state director for AARP and evidently she didn't read the bill. She is wrong on every point, these points are NOT just scare tactics. The scare tactics will begin if the Obama health care goes through, then God help us all. We think she has been drinking the Obama Kool Aide.

We will not be a part of the socialist agenda that the AARP is going in & we will not continue to be a member.

Michael Zerofsky says:

Several years ago, I chose not to renew my membership. Both my wife, Bonnie Rogers, and I have been constantly harassed by your organization with Membership Renewal forms ever since. Recently, you chose to endorse what is, in my opinion, a socialist bill with respect to universal health care for this country, a decision to which I am diametrically opposed.

Please remove our names from any rolls you have placed us on. I choose not to hear from you again. I trust you will provide me with the HOPE that you will honor this CHANGE request.
