(Category: Health Care)

An update from Google on Google Health, their effort to create a product for electronic medical records that’s worth reading about and keeping an eye on. I’ve talked a lot about the benefits of electronic medical records, so read about what the googlers are planning on doing.

Bill VanMeter says:

I would like address the medicare/social security issue. When Roosevelt began this program he made it a sacred trust, I believe those were his words. The program was to be isolated from the general fund and used for no other purpose however in the late 50s Congress, united they stood on this issue, took it upon themselves to delve into the fund to balance the budget. Congress approved and passed the laws necessary to reach their long arm deep into the fund and it hasn't stopped since. Every time they took money out they replaced it with bonds or promises to repay it until...now Bush says, "Those bonds aren't worth the paper they're written on".
I'm not sure where the social security trust is now whether it become part of general fund or what but wouldn't doubt it.

Why isn't this fact more well publicized? Why isn't the media reporting these facts? why isn't AARP asking where this money went and what it was used for?

I am angry and distrustful of the whole system. I am soon to be 62 and disabled, had I known that social security wouldn't be there for me maybe I would have done something differently in planning for my end time but I trusted my congress and government to take care of a sacred trust that means so much to so many!
