shAARP Talk: Observations from AARP

(Category: Divided We Fail)

More than 700 people turned out for a diverse, intergenerational Debate Watch Party at Nashville's Centennial Park on Tuesday night. The crowds turned out despite a rainstorm that force planners to move the event from outdoors to an enclosed pavilion at the park. Photos of the party are posted on the AARP Tennessee website. Here are some highlights.

We are going to pay again!! Every time we have the same party in
both jobs, we have paid dearly. However, we are going to learn.
Heaven help us.

Don Alford, Sr. says:

I've watched two presidential debates and I plan to watch the one debate? remaining. I've heard windy speeches from both candidates delivered as answers to some really simple questions. For one question Tom stated the answer needed to be a simple "YES" or "NO." Both candidates spoke for what seemed like five minutes and neither one ever said either of the possible answers. Instead they rambled on about what "the Other Guy" has said, often repeating themselves again and again. What kind of debating is this?

It seems to me most of the questions could have been fully answered in perhaps a minute, especially if the candidates stuck to THE QUESTION and left out all the promises and oft-repeated political posturing.

My only wish in this election year is that there was a candidate who was willing to stick to the facts and forget all the hot air.

About political promises: Don't voters realize anything a candidate promises is just that, a promise. When and if a candidate is elected he can propose a Plan, but it's up Congress to turn it into a Law. And many times, the original Plan may be unrecognisable when Congress finishes tacking on amendments, or maybe "earmarks."

This is the most serious election Iwill be voting on.Remember the McCarthy era well what he predicted is here and has been for quite a while now . when we observed our Government making amendments than we care for.The one that bothers me most is i have an annuity to leave for my Children . the Govermnet tells me I must take out a certain percentage each yr and it begins to go into the principle
What right do they have to tell us what to do with our money?
WE NEED SMALLER GOVERNMENT AND FOR THEM TO STAY OUT OF OUR PRIVATE LIVES. I am voting for the candidate who had the leased amount of money without mention names. The opposiction tells a lot of lies and cannot be trusted.

I agree with Don Alford Sr. --- It's CONGRESS (we've suffered from this recently and in the last several years) -- which makes things happen. We need to change those guys!

WOULD LIKE TO HEAR THE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE ANSWER SOME OF THE MULTITUDE OF ADS BEING RUN ON TV AND RADIO IN FLORIDA. I KNOW SOME OF THE ADS ARE UNTRUE BUT MANY PEOPLE MAY BELIEVE THEM.
