Being smart in these tough times can really pay off.

Great blog and great advice. When I am helping people with HIV and AIDS, most do not know about public funding through Ryan White Care Act. They do have to qualify financially but once approved can get help with medication and other costs.
But when talking about HIV and health care choices, the most important thing to remember if you are not being abstinent, you need to be tested for HIV once a year.
There are now medications to keep people with HIV alive for up to 40 years. But if you do not get tested, you can not know when to start the life saving medications.
With over 1.2 million Americans now infected with HIV, we all need to work together to prevent new exposures and needless deaths from HIV. The largest number of new exposure are in heterosexual women and minorities but quickly growing in all sections of our citizens.
World AIDS Day is coming up on Dec. 1st which is not only a memorial to those lost to HIV and AIDS around the world but a reminder we have much work left to do.
As an AARP/DWF advocate, I work with many others to guarantee affordable quality health care and financial security for ALL Americans and I pray for the day when a cure is found.
