ShAARP Session: Observations from AARP

You absolutely must check out this new video series addressing why health care reform is important, from the voices from experts, physicians, organizations, retirees and others. The first video is below, where folks discuss how health reform will only strengthen Medicare by prescription drug choices, long term care choices and out-of-pocket expenses.

Although I agree Medical is out the box....I am very disappointed that AARP chose to endorse the President's healthcare reform bill....This in my opinion is not on behalf of the betterment of healthcare for seniors....AARP pledged help for Seniors, did you bother to look at healthcare in Europe, or Canada for that matter. No! I thought not...To all you Seniors out there, you will be taking a number for a simple check up that may take months to see doctors, because there will be a shortage of medacal staff and healthcare....What in heavens' name did our forefathers fight and risk their lives for if we are all just looking to save a buck in a Nation that helps and comes to the aid of every other country and nation in the world today...!!! People wake up, and you adminiswtrators of AARP make us proud and stand up for what's best for your members and this COUNTRY....not a quick fix...!!!!!

I thought I would be proud to be a mamber of AARP but not it's a disappointment!!

I have just viewed the video and want you and others to know that discrepancies and omissions in your video, namely: (1) Congress has already passed a $240Billion bill referred to as 'The Doctor Fix' and thus, there will be NO 21% reduction in reimbursements and no decrease in services; (2) the so-called 'Death Panel' that Congress says is NOT in their health reform has already been created and funded in January 2009 in the Stimulus Bill. The 15-member panel is called the "Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research" and the 15 members have already been chosen. The panel was proposed by Tom Daschele who argues that "Americans ought to be more like Europeans who passively accept hopeless diagnosis." Daschele also writes that health care reform "will not be painfree. Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age, instead of treating them." One of the most prominent members of the panel is Dr. Death himself, Ezekiel Emanuel, and explains the logic behind his discriminatory views on elderly health care as follows: "Unlike allocation by sex or race, allocation by age is not discrimination. Every person lives through different life stages rather than being a single age. Even if 25 year olds receive priority over 65 year olds, everyone who is 65 now was previously 25 years old." President Obama's regulatory czar, Cass Sunstein, will play a major role in defining the Government's control of medical care. In 2003, he wrote a paper for the Brookings Joint Center for Regulatory Studies arguing that human life varies in value. The Government will decide whether a person's life is worth living. - In my opinion, AARP has sold out their members. I have never been an activist but on this issue I intend to relay the Facts and your video does not depict the true picture of this health care reform.

I feel for the American that has a hard time to put food on the table, feed and educate their children and find it almost impossible to run their vehicle for arrands, never mind family visits.

I'm a senior that finds it differcult to find the funds to visit my eighty-two year old father.

Where's the fairness in the above notations?

Sick of politicians altogether. The ones worth anything have died....the Kennedy's.
