VolunteeringSometimes inspiration travels fast. As in 150-mph fast. Pull up a bucket seat and a roll cage and I’ll explain. Last winter, Doug Brown, the principal of W.T. Chipman Middle School in Dover, Del., was watching the Daytona 500 NASCAR race when he noticed that driver Jeff Gordon’s car was emblazoned with a logo for AARP’s Drive to End Hunger campaign.

VolunteeringJust weeks into the NASCAR season and the Drive to End Hunger has provided more than 216,000 meals for hungry seniors. Building momentum for the initiative, four-time Sprint Cup champion Jeff Gordon and the No. 24 Drive to End Hunger Chevrolet Team finished 18th at Sunday’s Auto Club Speedway 400 in Fontana, Calif., and look for their eighth win this weekend at Martinsville Speedway.
