Insights for 50+ Job Seekers

Straight from Olrando@50+, Deb Silverberg brings you job hunting tips from the experts:
CareerBuilder's Brent Rasmussen offered a range of tips in the "Shifting Gears into a New Career" session. First, follow the Golden Rule of job searching. Network, network, network. Referrals are still the number one way employers find strong job candidates.
Get social. Social media sites like Facebook and LinkedIn should be key parts of your job search. Facebook even has a new @work feature to help you connect with people at companies of interest.
Be open. Health care and education are two hot sectors now, and Rasmussen also suggests considering possibilities as a temp or contractor. Contact a staffing company in your area to learn about the prospects (find one in your area via americanstaffing.net).
