AARP Educates and Encourages Americans to Vote with New “Raise Your Voice” Smart Speaker App

The midterm elections are some 25 days away. And there are now 54 million smart speakers in the U.S. with more being purchased each day. In response, AARP has an innovative new “Raise Your Voice” smart speaker app designed to increase civic engagement of voters age 50 and older.

The voice-enabled speaker skill, available on Amazon Alexa and Google Home, provides users with information and support on various advocacy issues including Social Security, Medicare and caregiving. It also assists users by sharing polling location information and calendar reminders designed to encourage voter turnout and influence of America’s voters age 50-plus. “Raise Your Voice” will live on after the midterm elections with updates to be added as needed.
