READY. SET. PACK!

For the fourth year in a row, AARP employees joined their colleagues from AARP Foundation for a day of service on 9/11. Thousands of volunteers from across the DC metro region and beyond joined together on the National Mall to pack meals for low-income seniors. More than 10 million older adults are at risk of hunger every day.

The event is part of AARP Foundation’s Summer of Service to Seniors, a series of volunteer opportunities around the country designed to shine a spotlight on food insecurity and senior poverty and show how volunteer service can make a real difference.

All hands were on deck - including celebrity chef Carla Hall. Hall works with AARP Credit Card from Chase and has participated in eight AARP Foundation meal pack events over the past several years. Through selfless volunteers like her, the Foundation has been able to pack and distribute over 41 million meals over the past seven years.
