Christopher Walken to Play Captain Hook in NBC's 'Peter Pan'

Christopher Walken fans get ready: the Oscar-winning actor is slated to play Captain Hook in NBC's upcoming live adaption of Peter Pan.

Walken is no stranger to song and dance. He's showcased his dancing feet in Pennies From Heaven, Hairspray and Jersey Boys as well as stints on NBC's own Saturday Night Live.

"He might really be a song-and-dance man at heart," NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt told reporters. "He's fearless as a comedic actor and always comes to play. I guarantee you he's going to bring his own spin to Captain Hook. He might be the first tap-dancing Captain Hook."

NBC is still searching for a lead female actress for the musical. The network is hoping to replicate the successful ratings of last year's The Sound of Music Live, which starred Carrie Underwood.

Peter Pan Live! will air Dec. 4.
