Yankees Owner Passes Away at 80 Years Old

George Steinbrenner passed away early this morning in a hospital in Tampa, Florida. Flags were immediately lowered to half- staff at Steinbrenner Field the New York Yankees' spring training complex. Steinbrenner just celebrated his 80th birthday on July 4th but had not been in good health recently.
For over 30 years Steinbrenner, "The Boss," lived up to his billing as a no nonsense kind of guy, leading the Yankees to win six World Series under his reign. Clad in his trademark outfit of a navy blue blazer and white turtleneck Steinbrenner was a force to be reckoned with. Known for his tiffs with the Yankees Yogi Berra, firing the manager Billy Martin TWICE, "The Boss" became a Yankees icon, and will surely be missed.
