Virginia Exit Polls: Oldest Voters Tilt to Romney
By Election 2012, November 6, 2012 10:15 PM
Exit polls in Virginia, another crucial swing state, show a surprising contrast between boomers and seniors. Those ages 50 to 64, who amount to 31 percent of the electorate in the poll, are favoring President Obama by 51 percent to 48 percent. Those 65 and older, who amounted to 14 percent of the electorate in the poll, are going for Mitt Romney 59-41 percent.
Exit polls, it should be mentioned, are a snapshot of a small portion of the electorate, and the final results may differ considerably.
