Did you know June is Home Safety Month?
In recognition of this important issue - especially for seniors - AARP launched " 30 for 30," highlighting 30 important safety tips for each of the 30 days in June.
Some surprising findings from the 30 for 30:
Did you know more than 86,000 people fall each year inside or in the immediate environment outside home due to a pet, according to the Center for Disease Control? Of those 10.5 percent were between the ages of 65 to 74.
Did you know cooking-related fires are the third leading cause of fire deaths and the leading cause of injuries among people 65 years of age and older? Source: US Fire Administration
