Lose Weight with your Cell Phone?? Nooo

How do you lose weight? Eat less, move more. No brainer right? But for Americans, who have a sky rocketing obesity rate, this isn't always the easiest of tasks.
According to Reuters, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has just reported that more than 70 million US adults are obese that means 26.7% of Americans that is up 1% in two years.
Did you know obesity costs $147 billion a year and that it has become "a major public health threat" and is steadily worsening?? Yikes.
What can be especially tricky about weight loss is the counting of the calories. Let's be honest, who really has the time to count the calorie count of every morsel they put in their mouth??
Fear not! The New York Times recently wrote an article on new weight-loss programs are available for iPhones, BlackBerrys and other smartphones. The apps are pretty easy to use and often times free. When you download the app, it will help you track the number of calories and nutrients that you consume and it will help calculate how many you burn throughout the day. Eventually the idea is you learn about which foods are better for you and which ones have a lower caloric content and it becomes natural to choose the healthier option.
Do they work? Well, the LoseIt app (which is free) has been downloaded by over 5 million users - why don't you download it and give it a whirl and tell us for yourself how it goes!
