After buying the $5 scratch-off ticket from a supermarket vending machine, the state lottery commission says, the Zagamis dropped it into one of their grocery bags and then forgot about it.
following day, when the Zagamis realized that neither of them had scratched the ticket, they dug through their trash, found it, and hit the jackpot - literally.
In claiming their prize on July 24, the Zagamis opted for a one-time lump sum payment of $650,000 before taxes.
