Celebrating Movies for Grownups: The Award Show

"There's a lot of cult of youth in our business - and I think we need to look to our mentors and people who are ahead of us for some wisdom." That was Colin Firth, last night, summing up a night which saw Carl Reiner introducing son Rob Reiner as he received an award for Best Intergenerational Movie. In a town where the "cult of youth" pops up quite a bit, it was nice to hear Lesley Manning say "I really do believe roles for women in Hollywood are getting better. Women over 40, 50, 60 are playing sexy and smart roles."
