AARP Eye Center
Greetings from the happiest place on Earth - at least, that is what you are constantly told! If you guessed Disney World, you win the prize. The Tuohy clan is experiencing the magic, most with a happy heart.
Wandering around Disney World, you keep hearing "I'm STARVING" from kids and adults alike. I started thinking: no one in this park is really starving, or truly hungry for that matter. But there are people, particularly seniors, that do go hungry each and every day. According to AARP and the AARP Foundation's Drive to End Hunger, more than 6 million seniors face the threat of hunger. Let's give up that expensive cup of coffee, or just pick up a sandwich for someone and give it to them. Senior citizens just need to know that we have not forgotten about them, and guess what, guys, we're not getting any younger! Today, go out and give of your time, your energy, and your resources to this wonderful generation. Be aware, because this treasured group is reluctant to make others aware of their needs.
So I challenge you to turn around. As we discussed last week, seek out the ones that need you, and don't ever forget our most prized possessions: our history; the invaluable people who got us to where we are today. Let's make sure they never have to feel truly hungry again. I want reports back - tell me what you're doing to make a difference in senior citizens' lives!
