Thursday Tech: Life after the Rental Store

Blockbuster Video Closing

(via Scott Clark)
So Blockbuster has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which probably shouldn't surprise you... my neighborhood Blockbuster store just closed up shop not quite a month ago.
I'm pretty old-school about movie rentals. (By which I mean, I still do it.) So when my roommate and I decided we were going to do a girls night in tomorrow, I figured I'd roll down to my neighborhood Blockbuster and grab a movie. Nope, can't do that anymore. Wait, don't we have a Playstation 3? And doesn't that thing have some sort of... Netflix instant hookup?
Yes. Yes, it does.
You know, for being as tech-savvy as I am, I forget the silliest things. I didn't realize my coffee maker had a clock until six months in. Someone just told me that they don't type emails on their smartphone anymore. (Its voice recognition is so good that you can just talk to it.)
What extra feature did you just realize your technology had? And how will you rent movies after the rental store goes away?
