Tuesday Tech: Shopping Smart for Social Good

We're all conscious that our spending goes to support corporate donations at some point. We don't always know how that works. So, if I shop at Walmart, I'm supporting... what? And my North Face jacket means... what?
The always-wonderful Sunlight Foundation is trying to make it easier for you. All it takes is a bookmark on the browser you use (Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, et cetera) and you can click the bookmark whenever you're on your bank's website. The tool will analyze the company names on your statement - see above for example - and report back with a breakdown of issues, politicians that company supports, and party affiliation. Neat, eh?
Do you care where your money goes? Would you use this tool? Let us know.
