NFL Players Assn & AARP Kick Off National Volunteer Week in Nashville

There was game day energy on the ground in Nashville as more than 100 volunteers from AARP and the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) kicked off National Volunteer Week in the Volunteer State.
The volunteers pitched in to repair and renovate the homes of two seniors identified by Rebuilding Together. Watch this clip from WSMV, the NBC affliate in Nashville to get a sense of the good vibes.
The three NFLPA participants - Ross Browner, Jimmy Robinson and John Pointer - dove right in to work and promote the effort, spending the better part of the day with us. They did everything we asked and more (even caravanning across town from one house to the other to meet the media and volunteer needs).

Here's what one of our new volunteers said about her experience:
"I just wanted to send you a note and let you know how much I enjoyed my experience yesterday! It was just what I needed! I met some nice people and enjoyed knowing that I was a part of something that was going to make someones life better... The project also gave me the realization that I have to "get off my lazy butt". Every bone and muscle hurts today. You know, when you have been busy as I was when I was working and I walked to work every day, to be idle for the past 6 months was not a good thing. So, the project opened my eyes to that as well! Thanks so much for being such a great help in getting me going!"
