With the 10 th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks approaching, Create The Good is encouraging Americans to use the occasion to give back their communities. The 9/11 tragedy brought Americans together and, in that spirit, we suggest you gather your friends and others in your community for a service party on September 9, 10 or 11.
What's a service party? It's a gathering of people who need share only one thing in common: a desire to do good for others. The host (perhaps with some help from a friend) arranges the activity - for example, collecting paperback books to send to U.S. troops serving overseas - and invites at least 10 others age 50+ to participate. The host can be of any age.
We've teamed up with House Party to help you make this a meaningful - and fun - event from start to finish. Service party hosts receive a free packet, including: Create The Good t-shirt; water bottles; AARP offers; party accessories; coupons; and more.
If a service party isn't for you, check Create The Good for other volunteer opportunities. Ten years ago, unthinkable tragedy led to unprecedented unity. Let's carry on the spirit that each of us has something to offer that can help others.
