Tax season is not something most of us are thinking about just weeks before Thanksgiving, but it is on the minds of the folks of the AARP Foundation.

It's this time of year when the Foundation is recruiting volunteers for their AARP Tax-Aide program, the nation's largest free, volunteer-run tax preparation and assistance program. There are many kinds of volunteer opportunities - from tax volunteers to greeters as well as well as communications and technology coordinators.

As a volunteer, you would join more than 35,000 volunteers across the country helping more than 2.6 million taxpayers annually. The AARP Tax-Aide program is offered at approximately 6,500 locations nationwide in senior centers, libraries, community centers, and at other convenient locations. All volunteers are AARP Trained and IRS certified. AARP Tax-Aide a Foundation program run in cooperation with the IRS.
