AARP Offers Tips for Hurricane, Wildfire, Natural Disaster Preparation
By Andrew Soergel, May 13, 2022 10:16 AM
Storms, fires and floods can arrive quickly and with little notice, leaving little time to prepare and respond. Several AARP state offices have set up one-stop-shop websites with information on local resources and are hosting webinars to help you understand how to stay safe in emergency situations.
With hurricane season around the corner, our offices in Texas, Louisiana and Florida have published online resource pages to help residents plan ahead. AARP Hawaii is hosting webinars in June focused on disaster planning and hurricane preparation and response.
Our offices in Oregon and California, meanwhile, have published online guides to help residents cope with wildfires. And AARP Montana will host a tele-town hall on Tuesday, June 21, about wildfire preparedness.
