More Than 7 in 10 Nursing Home Staffers Didn't Get Booster, According to Latest Dashboard

Booster recipients are still few and far between in many of America’s nursing homes. An estimated 40 percent of residents and 70 percent of staffers have not received a booster, according to our latest analysis of federal nursing home data for the four weeks ending Jan. 23.
“Those booster rates are just way too low for such a vulnerable population, who really need this extra protection,” says Susan Reinhard, AARP senior vice president and director of the AARP Public Policy Institute. Last month, AARP called on U.S. nursing homes to require booster shots among residents and staff.
Our latest Nursing Home COVID-19 Dashboard also saw staff infections climb to record levels. Staff cases were 11 times higher than they were in the previous four weeks.
