Save Money By Breaking Bad Spending Habits

savings challenge for tara

It's true what they say:  Bad habits are hard to break.  But the good news is that breaking many bad habits will not only make you happier, and maybe healthier, but richer too.

And that's what the Week 2 "Break a Bad Spending Habit" Challenge is all about.  We want to hear your success stories about how you've kicked some nasty habits and saved some cash because of it. Maybe it's a habit you just fell into like getting coffee to go in the morning instead of making it for yourself, or always forgetting to get cash out at your own bank's ATM so you end up paying extra fees to withdraw it elsewhere. Or maybe you've managed to kick a habit that's far more costly and potentially dangerous, like smoking, aggressive driving or gambling.

Enter the Week 2 "Break a Bad Spending Habit" Challenge

Large or small, tell us your stories and tips about how you broke a bad habit and the impact it had on your finances, and your life - you might even win a prize. To enter the Week 2 Challenge, post your story by Sunday, October 14, 2012.  To be eligible for weekly and overall prizes, you must join the Savings Challenge group and track your savings (and enter the contest) via the savings tracker. Your savings tips could win you a prize. Read our contest rules.
